Dennis L. Cannon

Dennis L. Cannon is President and CEO of Jackson Purchase Energy Cooperation in Paducah.  JPEC is an electric distribution cooperative that serves approximately 30,000 member-owners in six western Kentucky counties.  The corporation’s net assets exceed $110 million and annual revenues exceed $61 million.

Cannon comes to the board as a long-time believer in youth development programs with a deep passion for 4-H.  A native of Christian County, he credits his involvement in 4-H for his personal development and for many of the skills that he relies on daily.  He enjoyed attending the West Kentucky 4-H Camp in Dawson Springs when he was young.

As he grew older, he focused his 4-H activities on leadership development and public service.  He attended National 4-H Congress in Chicago as the Kentucky record book winner in plant and soil science. He also attended National 4-H Conference in Washington, DC.  Cannon served two terms as State 4-H President as a college student.

Cannon received Kentucky 4-H’s highest honor, the Lifetime Achievement Award, and was inducted into the Kentucky 4-H Hall of Fame in 2010.
