This week as I reflect on what should have been the 2020 Kentucky State Fair I am reminded of what makes each Kentuckian go back each and every year . . . the smells of the barns, the work of a 4-Her or FFA youth showing an animal, the smiles of a kid getting ice cream from Chaney’s, the sweat dripping off your face from the hot August day, the amazing food under the Great Kentucky Cookout Tent, and on and on and on.  Those are the things that make-up 10 long, amazing days of reuniting with friends from across the Commonwealth and celebrating Kentucky agriculture.

While this year’s fair might not look the same, it is still going on for our hard working youth across our great state.  From the 4-H family, we say GOOD LUCK over the next few days as you have worked hard to get to the Kentucky State Fair.  The long hours training and working with your animals have paid off.  Know that you have done amazing and Kentucky 4-H is so proud of you.

To our donors and supporters each year who join us on the first Friday of the Kentucky State Fair at the Kentucky 4-H Foundation Annual Appreciation Breakfast, we say THANK YOU for your support and dedication to our youth development organization.  These are tough times we are in and we are in need of your support more than ever.  As we approach National 4-H week October 6-12 and then our year end campaign we hope that you will consider joining us or continuing your support.  We have not stopped, and our agents have not stopped. . . each and every day youth across this commonwealth are still being reached by a 4-H agent, or specialist.  Now more than ever we NEED YOU!  Be on the lookout through social media for ways you can support Kentucky 4-H or visit us on our website at www.kentucky4hfoundation.org.

Good luck to the youth across this commonwealth!
