My name is Paige Hart, and I graduated from Caldwell County High School in 2013. During my high school years, I was deeply involved in 4-H, serving as the state 4-H President from 2013 to 2014 and on the 4-H Foundation Board from 2013 to 2015.
Life After 4-H
Since graduating from the 4-H program, I have been on a continuous educational journey. I am currently in my final year of OB-GYN residency, set to graduate in June 2025. My interest in medicine began in high school, sparked by my personal experience with a peanut allergy. Initially, I considered primary care, but my passion shifted to OB-GYN during my general surgery rotation in medical school. I was drawn to the combination of surgical practice and long-term patient care.

Joining 4-H
4-H was a natural fit for me, as both my parents were involved in the program during their youth, and my grandparents were volunteers. I joined 4-H in the 4th grade through a local sewing club, despite my initial struggles with sewing. Over the years, I participated in various projects, including vet science, the country ham project, and public speaking. My leadership roles included serving as county president, area council president, and ultimately, state president.
Memorable 4-H Experiences
One of my cherished memories is attending the centennial celebration of the Smith-Lever Act in Washington, D.C., with my office team. This act established cooperative extension services, which support 4-H programs. My involvement in 4-H provided numerous opportunities to connect with donors, club leaders, agents, and youth, fostering a deep appreciation for the program’s impact across generations and communities.
Impact of 4-H on My Life
4-H significantly shaped my communication and leadership skills. The experience of giving speeches and interacting with diverse groups of people influenced my decision to double major in communications. These skills have been invaluable in my medical career, helping me work effectively with colleagues and patients from various backgrounds.

Advice for Young People
My advice to young people is to dream big and find ways to make those dreams a reality. Life’s path is rarely straightforward, but perseverance, creativity, and dedication can help overcome obstacles. Surround yourself with supportive and encouraging people, and remember that you can achieve anything you set your mind to.
Conclusion
4-H has been a cornerstone of my personal and professional development, providing a foundation of skills and experiences that continue to influence my life. I am grateful for the opportunities and memories it has given me and look forward to giving back to the community that has supported me throughout my journey.
