Board Member
Ryan Dale Bivens grew up in Spencer County where he was involved 4-H. After graduating from UK in may 2001 he moved to LaRue County where he along with his wife Misty, own and operate Fresh Start Farms. They have two sons, Cyrus who is actively involved in 4-H and Avery that is a Cloverbud. The first-generation farmer oversees the day to day management and operations on over 7,500 acres of corn, soybeans and wheat annually.
They have won numerous awards and recognition, such as the 2011 Progressive Farmer Magazine “America’s Best Young Farmer”, 2013 American Farm Bureau Achievement Award & 2015 Outstanding Young Farmer Award from OFA. The Ky Soybean Association presented him the 2018 Distinguished service to Agriculture award and the LaRue County Chamber of Commerce just recently named him the 2018 Business Person of the Year. Ryan currently serves as Chairman of the Ky Soybean Promotion Board, a board member on the Hardin Coop Southern States Board, a director on the LaRue County Farm Bureau Board and serves on the Ky State Fair Board where he is very committed to the youth and agriculture. “My involvement in 4-H made me the person I am today, and I hope I can help to make a difference in some kid’s life, the same way volunteers influenced me growing up!”
