Deana K. Reed is the 2023 President of the Kentucky Association of Extension 4-H Agents (KAE4-HA).
Deana began her career in Extension in 1998 as the 4-H Youth Development Agent in Campbell County. Throughout her 25-year career, she has also served as a 4-H Youth Development Agent in Hardin, Fayette and now Meade Counties. She was a 4-H Extension Specialist for 6-years where she focused on 4-H Health and Communications curriculum, the 4-H Military Partnership Grant, 4-H Cloverbuds, afterschool and school enrichment programs.
She graduated from Eastern Kentucky University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Early Elementary Education and minor in Music Education and completed her master’s degree in vocational education from the University of Kentucky in 2003. In December 2021, she earned her graduate certificate in Family and Consumer Sciences. She has been a Kentucky 4-H’er since the age of 9 in Jessamine County and has served as a 4-H volunteer as well.
Deana thinks the best part of being a 4-H Youth Development professional is seeing youth and volunteers grow and develop into their personal interests. Deana and her husband, Bill live in Elizabethtown with their daughter, Natalie who attend the Hardin County Schools Early Career and College Academy. Their oldest daughter, Olivia, a KY 4-H Gold Award winner, lives in Louisville and attends Bellarmine University.
