4-H Fridays: Reconnecting and Engaging Alumni
In order to reconnect the thousands of Kentucky 4-H alumni, this Friday, the Kentucky 4-H Foundation will officially kick off 4-H Fridays! Each Friday, a video message from alumni will be posted on our Facebook page.
The purpose of this new weekly feature is to keep the long-lasting impact of 4-H at top-of-mind. By pushing quick, creative video messages through communication channels that our alumni are using, this project will give voice to our alumni, help reconnect them, and positively promote their experience in an eye-catching way. We anticipate virility of the messages and encourage each of you to share them with your 4-H and Facebook friends.
So why all the talk about our alumni? There is great power in our alumni. Unlike any other youth organization today, it’s estimated that there are 60 million 4-H alumni across the United States. Alumni are the people who care most about 4-H. They breathed it, experienced it, and lived it. It is their stories that will compel people to act, to get involved, to become aware, and to care.
The Kentucky 4-H Foundation is aggressively creating positive alumni relations to strengthen our 4-H community, to solicit invaluable advice from them, to create professional contacts, and of course, fund development.
We want to provide many opportunities for alumni to stay connected, to give back, or to simply share their stories. 4-H Fridays is just one of many opportunities the Foundation will provide to reconnect and engage our alumni. Over the next few weeks, our alumni page on the new 4-H Foundation website will provide a forum for alumni to engage with old friends, share stories, and stay connected. Please stay tuned and continue to re-visit our website and social media channels to receive all the latest news and updates.
