The Kentucky 4-H Foundation is pleased to announce the Kentucky 4-H and County 4-H Councils’ share of this year’s “Ag Tag” donations. For the third year, thanks to Commissioner of Agriculture James Comer, proceeds from the voluntary donations to the Agricultural Program Trust Fund are divided equally among 4-H, FFA, and Kentucky Proud.
Earlier this year, Commissioner Comer along with 4-H and FFA asked farmers across the Commonwealth to step-up and make the “Ag Tag” donation supporting 4-H, FFA, and Kentucky Proud. Farmers have the option to donate $10.00 when renewing their farm license plates.
The 4-H share for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2014 is $169,280.21. These funds benefit all levels of Kentucky 4-H. The 4-H share of the Ag Tag donations is split equally between the county where the funds originated and the Kentucky 4-H Foundation. That means part of the donations stay in the county, funding local 4-H programs and activities for the youth in the community. While the Foundation’s share is used to support state level programs many of our 4-H members participate in, furthering their positive experiences and opportunities.
All 120 counties in Kentucky have 4-H programs, and all counties will receive a portion of the support from the “Ag Tag” program. This is an excellent opportunity for the agriculture community to support the youth of Kentucky. We thank all those who donated and helped promote this wonderful program. Below you will find a summary of this year’s top counties, you can check out how your county did and view four years of information about each county’s donations, tags sold/renewed and the percentage making the donation.
