Second Vice Chairman

Mike Bach, along with his wife, Mary, and son, Steven, own B&E Farms in Owingsville, KY. Mike is the past president of the Kentucky Cattlemen’s Association. After serving 28 years as an army officer and four years as a sales agent for a farm machinery distributor, Mike purchased several farms in 1978 and inherited the family farm in 1996. His total operation includes 2,000 acres and includes a cow/calf farm, and his son raises about 1,000 acres of row crops.

Besides his involvement with the Extension Service, Mike is proud of his son, Steven’s, involvement in 4-H shooting and speech demonstration programs. The leadership skills and credibility Mike has earned have led him to serve future generations of leaders on the Kentucky 4-H Foundation Board. Besides this Board and the Kentucky Cattlemen’s Association, Mike is a program chairman with the Montgomery County Cattlemen’s Association, a board member of the Bath County Farm Bureau, a member of the Association of Officers for the U.S. Army Reserve, and a lifetime member of the National Rifle Association.

Mike enjoys working with old farm equipment, and his family is committed to producing excellent farm products in a socially responsible manner, all while watching the bottom line.
