By Pam Rowsey Larson, 4-H Homecoming Chairwoman
Homecoming is about memories, friendships and recognizing the importance of an organization or a time in one’s life. Kentucky 4-H Homecoming is especially important to those of us who have been greatly impacted by the best (in our opinion) youth development program around!
As this year’s Homecoming quickly approaches, I ask that you reflect back on the memories you’ve made in Kentucky 4-H and the people who made your 4-H experience so wonderful. The counselor who convinced you to stay at camp when you were homesick… The blue ribbon you won at the county fair on a project that really challenged you… The late night chats with your roommate during Teen Conference…
There are so many things that have made up each of our experiences with 4-H and Homecoming is an opportunity to reconnect with old friends, laugh at times gone by, enjoy some good food and support today’s Kentucky 4-H program.
The 2014 Kentucky 4-H Homecoming will be held Saturday, June 7th at 6:00 PM at the University of Kentucky’s E.S. Good Barn. Activities will include reception, dinner, program, 4-H memorabilia, historic slide show and lots of photos. Tickets are $40 per person and we ask that you please RSVP by May 30th at Noon. Be sure to also bring along any of your 4-H photos and memorabilia!
I ask that you please share this information with your 4-H friends, old and new, and encourage them to join us for the 2014 Kentucky 4-H Homecoming. All 4-H alumni, friends and supporters are invited! The people in attendance and the memories shared are what really make Homecoming fun and I encourage you to invite those you have been close to in 4-H! This is your chance to connect with friends while helping to assure a bright future for Kentucky 4-H. Your support and attendance is essential to making this a splendid evening full of memories shared and memories made possible. Please make your reservations NOW!
